Who am I?

Nicole Sanders, M.A.

Developmental Specialist

Hi, and thank you first and foremost for visiting my page. You might know me in a few different ways. You may know me as your child’s therapist. You may know me as a friend or colleague. Or you may just be curious about my page and dropping in. Either way I am grateful you are here. I’d like to introduce myself.

I am Nicole and I am a developmental therapist. I have been in this field for going on nine years (with a lifetime of personal experience as well). I have a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and a Master's of Arts in Teaching Special Education. I have at this point in my career worked with thousands of families. I have worked primarily with severe disabilities including down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. I have extensive amount of experience with children on the autism spectrum disorder. I also work with children who are showing mild delays as well.

This was not a field I ever saw myself going into but I am extremely thankful that I did, as I happen to truly enjoy my job. I like to say I have a lifetime of experience because I grew up with a brother who had special needs. So when families have used the "well you don't know what we're going through." They are correct, I don't. At least not as a parent. But I do know as a sibling what its like to experience someone with special needs on a daily basis and the emotions that come along with it. Therefore, I'd like to think I bring education mixed with personal into my role as your therapist.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know my background. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask!
